5-Modules Online Future Leadership Skills Course (Certificate)

The purpose of this modular course is to transform professionals of all levels, into Future Leaders. This will be achieved within 5 individual Modules, which will be facilitated by highly experienced Professional Coaches from DesignThinkers Academy. Additionally, we will actively guide you in designing your Personal Action Plan equipping you to effectively implement Future Leadership Skills in your daily working environment.

During the 5 Modules you will be working individually as well as in a team setting in a live, interactive online classroom setting. This environment has been carefully constructed to allow you to gain a deeper understanding of our learning-by-doing method by directly implementing the various tools and techniques. Moreover, you will also recognize how to develop your Future Leadership Skills by performing hands-on exercises.
Our expert facilitators will guide you in how to develop team building skills while at the same
time highlight the unique knowledge and skill set of each individual participant. We will also challenge you to further develop, explore and reflect on your personal approach and skills in 5 concise and effective Modules. Approaches such as Critical Thinking in combination with various soft skills (e.g. creativity, empathy and communication skills) will largely influence the context of this program.
In addition, you will also develop a Personal Action Plan, to guide you in directly putting your new skills into practice.
The course consists of 5 carefully designed Modules that stimulate group work as well as individual work.
To ensure that you feel comfortable, confident and motivated to work in co-creation within our online virtual classroom setting we have incorporated a brief onboarding session at the start of Module 1 to gain a deeper understanding of how to efficiently interact with Miro and Zoom.
Module 1: Perception
Introduction to Future Leadership Skills
Purpose: Defining your personal Future Leadership skills.
Tool: Resistance to Change Challenge
Key Skills: Understanding the Critical Skills necessary for describing the change you want to make within yourself towards becoming a Future Leader: perception, resistance and self-reflection.
Module 2: Communication
Effective communication in complex systems
Purpose: Gain hands-on experience with practicing various communication skills and managing expectations within your team.
Tool: Communication with Generation Y and Z Toolbox
Key Skills: Understanding the communication patterns of the new generations and developing the ability to adjust your communication skills. Focus on leading and communicating with virtual teams and communication with Generation Y and Z.
Module 3: Empathy
Using empathic skills to lead teams
Purpose: Developing the ability to lead teams in an empathic way, by understanding and valuing the other’s perspectives.
Tool: The Emotional Intelligence Grid
Key Skills: Understanding the importance of empathy in a world where people will be overwhelmed by technology. Understanding the difference between cognitive and affective empathy, and the importance of empathizing with your team.
Module 4: Critical Thinking
Developing a constructive approach to Critical Thinking, by reflecting on assumptions and beliefs and recognising what we tend to assume
Purpose: Challenging assumptions and managing risk-taking in an uncertain world.
Key Skills: Understanding how Managers & Future Leaders, who are constructive Critical Thinkers, can effectively engage in problem solving, being both detail-oriented and open-minded.
Module 5: Creativity
Leading in a creative way
Purpose: How to break patterns deliberately to incorporate creativity as a Manager of Future generations.
Tool: Foster a creative climate
Key Skills: How to strategically use creativity as a tool to evoke innovation. How to spark your creativity and also how to cultivate it within your team.
Personal Action Plan:
Applying newly acquired knowledge. After completion of the 5-Modules program a follow-up coaching call will be scheduled to reflect on your recently gained insights and learn from your fellow participants. Put your Personal Action Plan into practice and become a Future Leader with the relevant skill set.
After completing the course and assignments you can celebrate your achievement of becoming a true Future Leader. All tools and materials will be available after the course for personal use. A certificate from DesignThinkers Academy will be awarded to participants who successfully complete the course via an online ceremony.
