Design Thinking Facilitation Training

This 3-day high energy design thinking facilitator training gives participants the confidence to plan for and facilitate design thinking projects and workshop sessions.

You have read a number of books and articles on Design Thinking. You attended a few training sessions. You know the famous case studies. You get it. But how to facilitate a Design Thinking session? How to embed design thinking across organisational functions? How to manage a design thinking critical path? How to ensure workshop outcomes are carried forward into the implementation pipeline? How to manage challenging participants or stakeholders? How and when to move from design thinking concepts to a “lean-start-up” or “agile” implementation.
This ‘Learning by Doing’ experience in a 3-day design thinking facilitator training setting is followed by a personal online coaching sessions for you to learn how to facilitate Design Thinking workshop sessions for mixed audiences. The activities for the 3-day training are grouped into a balanced mix of theory and practice. You may choose to follow this design thinking training up with our 3-month certification learning journey to help embed the facilitation practice.

Convergent thinking is the ability to synthesise and evaluate a wide variety of ideas and insights into useful formulations of design problems, leading to workable solutions.

Afternoon: Facilitating rapid prototyping, In the afternoon you will Learn to facilitate participative processes that bring innovative ideas to life. Rapid Prototyping: Iteratively and quickly create and test visual/ experiential artefacts that give detail, form, and nuance to the intangible concepts generated in the divergent/convergent thinking phases- failing fast and learning quickly about what is working and what isn’t

Facilitation is key in running successful design thinking facilitator training sessions, which usually bring together people from diverse backgrounds to work on specific challenges. Creating space and environment where people feel confident and be creative is the key responsibility for the facilitator.

We strongly believe in ‘Learning by Doing’, so the Design Thinking Facilitator Training will be a high energy hands-on event. You’ll be challenged to work in small teams working on all the different aspects of facilitating workshops. The focus will be on improving your personal facilitation skills in the design and management of Design Thinking workshops.

This video gives you a glimpse of our Facilitation Training delivered around the world:

The objective of the 3-day classroom training is to understand the facilitation skills’ required to successfully plan for and manage Design Thinking sessions through a combination of facilitation experiences and coaching.
