The secret to persuasion, influence, and motivation is a formula deeply grounded in storytelling. This one-day Effective Storytelling Training offers a deeper understanding of why story matters, what it means to ‘think in story’ and how to apply storytelling to influence an audience.
Is the message you communicate about your product, service or strategy presented in a way that is memorable and impactful? Story is one of the primary mediums through which humans communicate and make sense of the world. In an increasingly automated world, the power of story offers the opportunity to communicate meaning and create emotional connections with your audience. Through story you begin to humanize your message and gain trust in your audience. Based on this understanding, by creating and telling stories, we begin to re-imagine and co-create the future.

Colin Skelton has design and facilitated many creative workshops in South Africa and globally (including Norway, USA, Japan, Russia), with a diverse range of people and teams, including corporates, coaches, creatives, actors and performers. He applies principles and practices from the theatre and the creatives arts, using tools such as role-play, storytelling, story presentation and open space technologies to explore human-centred approaches to team innovation. He is inspired by Design Thinking as an effective process to stimulate deeper understanding, ideas that matter and creative growth in people and organisations.
Colin believes that creativity can be harnessed and practised more actively for desired and positive outcomes, especially in the context of product and service design thinking and team innovation. As a facilitator, Colin follows an action-oriented focus to exploring ideas, concepts and desired outcomes.
