Online Employee Experience Design August 2021

South Africa

On this Online Employee Experience Design training we will address questions such as, how can you develop a strategic employee-focused vision for HR? How can you create employee engagement? Interesting challenges where you can use Design Thinking at its best.

Design Thinking is entering the world of Human Resources Management more and more. This interactive Online Employee Experience Design training will equip you with the Design Thinking mindset and tools to design a human-centred organisation, where people feel recognised, motivated and engaged.

During the Online Employee Experience Design training, you will be working on an employee-focused challenge under live guidance of our skilled facilitators. With a combination of live Classroom Sessions, group assignments and homework you will gain practical knowledge and experience to apply Design Thinking in your daily work. As a result you will be able to create value to your human resources management.

Recommended readings include:

Learn how to innovate with HR and create a human-centred organization;
Live and personal guidance from our expert facilitators;
Identify the priority personas (e.g., millennials, baby boomers, high-flyers or homeworkers) and design staff engagement programs and tools from the lens of these personas;
Conduct focused research within your organization to gather important insights, such as empathic interviews and learn how to understand persona pain points and staff needs;
Identify the moments that matter to the employees, and create rewarding Employee Journey Maps of their current (and future) working experience;
Increase your confidence for remote & multi-disciplinary collaboration.

We strongly believe in learning-by-doing. The major part of this Online Employee Experience Design training will consist of hands-on work on a general HR related case, using the different Design Thinking tools.

Co-creation in teams

You will  co-create in a small team to learn from each other and to bring in the knowledge and skills to the table. The tools we will be using throughout the training are fundamental in Design Thinking and will teach you how to use empathy in designing new services for your end-user: the employee.

Aside from guiding you through the Design Thinking process, our expert facilitators will share their experience and tricks on how to implement Design Thinking in HR. That way you can start applying Design Thinking straight away.

Online whiteboarding for effective innovation

You will work in Miro a collaborative remote whiteboarding tool that offers rich functionality to innovate, manage projects in an agile way and support growth.

Program 3-week Online Employee Experience Design Training

The Online Employee Experience Design training consists of 4 modules, focusing on the 4 stages of Design Thinking: Discover, Define, Design, Deliver. Each week consists of interactive Online Classrooms, followed by group work.

Session 1 Module 1: Onboarding and Discover
We find it very important that you feel comfortable, secure and motivated to work together for the upcoming weeks in this online learning environment. Therefore we have incorporated a short onboarding moment at the start of the first session.

Session 2 Module 1: Discover
We kick off with an introduction to Design Thinking principles, tools and best practices. We dive into the challenge with tools such as Stakeholder Map, Mind Map and Affinity Map. After successfully completing Design Research, we wrap up the Discovery Phase by creating strong Personas.

 Session 3 Module 2: Define
This module is dedicated to finding interesting opportunity areas: understanding frustrations, anger and problems to find problems that are worth solving. created empathy: understanding the end-user’s needs, frustrations and ambitions.

 Session 4 Module 2: Reframe
Using the Customer (or Employee) Journey Map we identify impactful moments within their decision-making process. With that knowledge we reframe the challenge into Problem Statements.

Session 5 Module 3: Develop
Now we have a good understanding of the problem area, it’s time to develop new solutions. Ideation! We will work with several ‘divergent thinking’ tools and cluster these ideas in an Idea Priority Map. The following step will be to prototype these ideas using  Service Scenarios and artefacts.

Session 6 Module 4: Deliver
The final week will focus on testing the Prototype and improving the concept. It’s the end of the first Double Diamond loop. This iterative process will be concluded by making a strong Pitch. We conclude our Classroom sessions with time to reflect and develop your personal implementation plan.

After completing the 3-week program and assignments you can celebrate your achievement of becoming a Design Thinker! You will receive your personal Design Thinkers certificate and access to all tools and materials.
